Пока в нашей отчизне ещё не принят закон, защищающий русский язык от красивых иноземных слов, позвольте, господа, именовать вас по старому. Итак, здравствуйте, меланхолики и мизантропы! Я буду говорить с вами о компьютерных играх - явлении, которое позволяет нам забывать на время о злобе мира и даёт почувствовать иногда, что мы на что-то способны.
Ныне я хотел бы поделиться своими впечатлениями от новой игры "Unreal II the Awakening". Жанр этой игры, до упомянутого законопроекта, назывался "шутером от первого лица". Ныне слово "шутер", понятное дело, заменяется на "стрелялку". Если кто помнит, первый "Unreal" появился шесть лет назад и вызвал в обществе фурор. Примерно в то же время пошли разговорчики о продолжении, однако с течением времени всё больше умов приходило к выводу, что создание второй части "Unreal" совершенно unreal - то есть нереально. Однако - поди ж ты! Сподобились!
Для начала расскажу о графике, о том, что ласкает взор. Нам с вами известно, что такое зимний пейзаж, особенно если окна, как у меня, выходят на завод по производству аммиака, особенно в сумерках... Поэтому графика игры по контрасту вызывает особенно тёплые чувства. Прекрасные цвета, детали, блики - одним словом, лучший мир в разрешении 1024 на 768.
Также сильной стороной новой игры является сюжет. Ваша задача отнюдь не сводится к одним убийствам - нет! Здесь всё время возникают новые обстоятельства, персонажи и загадки.
Alter ego играющего - человек по имени Джон Долтон - бывший десантник, а ныне командир патрульного корабля "Атлантис". В команду входят ещё три человека, вернее, два человека и один паразит. Первый - офицер Аида - очень привлекательная девушка, одетая в кожаный реглан. Разработчики программы позволяют рассмотреть её и спереди, и сзади, что очень нравится мужской части нашего сообщества. Аида даёт вам полётные задания и, кроме того, способна, что называется, "поговорить за жизнь". Второй член экипажа - механик Исаак. Для человека с библейским именем он слишком много курит. К тому же, он мастерит смертоносное оружие, коим вооружается герой, отправляющийся на миссию. Ну и, наконец, пилот корабля - паразит по имени Не Бан. Паразитом его называют не в бытовом, а в биологическом смысле. Такова уж его природа - он инопланетянин. Кстати, в "Законе о защите русского языка" ничего не говорится о заимствовании инопланетных словечек, поэтому вы можете смело обогащать свой словарный запас выражениями из лексикона Не Бана.
Вместе с членами экипажа вам придётся пройти через многие испытания, вы успеете искренне их полюбить. Но наступит трагический день, когда... Не могу продолжать - душат слёзы...
Сюжет "Unreal" вкратце таков. Мир будущего мало чем отличается от мира прошлого (в котором мы живём). Власть во вселенной поделена между транснациональными корпорациями, везде шныряют правительственные агенты, деньги решают всё, а нам, неудачникам, достаются одни тяготы и лишения. В этой обстановке на разных планетах обнаруживаются некие артефакты, оставленные древней протоцивилизацией. Зачем нужны эти предметы - не знает никто, но все хотят ими овладеть. И наша команда отправляется в путь...
Помимо всех достоинств "Unreal II the Awakening", я усматриваю в ней один существенный недостаток. Несмотря на название, она слишком уж напоминает реальность. Раньше в игровой вселенной мы чувствовали себя кем? Самовластными правителями, могучими вершителями судеб! Всякая битва, в конце концов, завершалась нашим триумфом. А теперь? Где оказывается Джон Долтон в конце игры? В жалкой капсуле, в полном одиночестве в открытом космосе. Он познал тяжесть предательства, плодами его труда пользовались другие, его кредитные карточки заблокированы, мобильный отключен, водительские права изъяты! Так что и в виртуальном мире мы более не цари и боги, а обыкновенные неудачники! Вроде Джона Долтона! Поздравляю вас, господа!
А теперь расскажу, как мне удалось разгадать смысл второй части названия программы "Awakening" ("пробуждение" - рус.). Дело было ночью. Я самозабвенно играл. Колонки исторгали мощные звуки. Стрельба, крики убиенных, глад и мор по всей земле, знамения великие на небе!
Но вот пришли соседи. Они сказали, что этот шум их якобы РАЗБУДИЛ ("awakening" - англ.)... И тут меня осенило!
